Governance at the Dementia Trust
The Dementia Services Development Trust is governed by a trustee board that takes overall responsibility for its work.
Trustees have a role in;
The long-term direction of the charity including its objectives or purposes
Implementing policies and activities to achieve objectives
Complying with legal requirements
Accountability to those with an interest in the charity
Most of the board’s work takes place at board meetings at which they;
Set direction and strategy
Ensure that the work done is effective, responsible, and legal
Safeguard finances, resources, and property
Prepare annual reports and accounts
Make clear about boundaries with those who work on behalf of the charity
Ensure that the board operates effectively
