Current Opportunities
Treasurer (Trustee)
Are you a qualified accountant or have senior-level financial management experience and looking to donate your expertise and time? We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Treasurer who can help champion the Dementia Trust as we embark on an exciting time in the charity’s growth and development.
With 1 in 3 people in the UK likely to develop dementia, we are looking to make a monumental impact on dementia by disrupting the narrative through funding innovative projects and programmes for those suffering with dementia as well as their carers.
The Trust is now looking to recruit a Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees, responsible for both strategic oversight and certain operational aspects of the Dementia Trust’s financial affairs, ensuring they are conducted within legal requirements, good practice and in line with the charity’s objectives. The charity is undergoing a meaningful redevelopment and looking for creative, energetic and strategic thinkers who can help drive us through this period of transformation.
The Dementia Trust was formally created as a charity in 1988 in Scotland with the purpose of enhancing the quality of life for individuals living with dementia and their carers by funding innovative, impactful projects, and fostering a community of knowledge sharing and support.

Development Manager
The Dementia Trust is the UK’s grant-making catalyst for dementia innovation. We fund bold ideas, empower changemakers and share learning to improve life for everyone affected by dementia.
Our strategy rests on three pillars:
Enable – fund innovators to test and scale practical ideas that improve life for people affected by dementia.
Empower – strengthen the people and partners who deliver change through convening (e.g. Fellows), mentoring, resources and support.
Educate – share learning and evidence, tell stories, and influence practice so effective ideas spread.
Over the past year we’ve launched new programmes, partnered with organisations such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and grown our governance and communications teams. The Development Manager will help us take the next step – building sustainable income and partnerships that allow these initiatives to thrive long into the future.
This is a pivotal new role, reporting to the Chair of Trustees, with responsibility for fundraising, partnerships, and events. You will be hands-on and creative, working closely with Trustees and our small but committed team to grow our income, visibility, and impact.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and autonomy, who can combine strategy with delivery, and who wants to see measurable results from their work.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are particularly keen to hear from candidates who bring lived experience of dementia or under-represented perspectives. We are open to appointing the right person either on an employment contract or a freelance consultancy basis.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Dylan Harper at chair@dementiatrust.org.
Thank you for your interest in the Dementia Trust.
