Mirrors

The problems with mirrors for people with dementia are often discussed. If the person does not recognise their reflection, they might think that a mirror is a window, and they might be concerned that someone is staring at them, looking puzzled of course! But the symptoms of dementia vary over time and it might be that the person will appreciate a mirror some of the time but not all of the time. And of course, there may be other people sharing the accommodation who need the mirror themselves. So the option of covering it up is a good one.
