Dementia Charity Showcases Innovative Dementia Projects that will change the lives of people with dementia.
Reframing dementia
The Dementia Services Development Trust will hold a showcase event in Edinburgh on February 7th at the Quartermile HQ of Morton Fraser.
This event will show results from five exceptional projects undertaken by experts supported by people with dementia including
A comic book that looks at the challenges of travelling with dementia
The creation of model walking paths for people with dementia
The creation of a photography exhibition by people affected by dementia
A new video game that helps to explain dementia and tests knowledge
A daytime disco for people with dementia and young dancers
On that day, applications for funding for 2020 projects will open.

The five projects include:
Drawing from Experience, the creation of a graphic novel to disseminate the ideas of people with dementia about the challenges of travelling and using transport in Scotland
Dementia Friendly Outdoor Spaces working with Paths for All, making model walking paths and outdoor furniture for people with dementia in West Lothian
Reframing Dementia, an audiovisual project between a documentary photographer, a composer and people with dementia culminating in an exhibition in Kirriemuir
Digital dementia game from Queen’s University Belfast where people living with dementia and students have devised a game that challenges the way people think about dementia
Daytime Dancehall from the University of Atypical in Belfast. An intergenerational dance experience where young performers prompt social dances with people who have dementia.
